Expanding the range of learning opportunities at Bain Elementary School
Math OlympiadThe goal of Math Olympiads is to stimulate enthusiasm and a love for mathematics. Math Olympiads introduces important mathematical concepts and teaches major strategies for problem solving. Students learn to develop flexibility in solving problems by using creativity and ingenuity to meet mathematical challenges.
Math Olympiad clubs meet weekly for an hour. Club members explore a topic or strategy in depth and practice for the contests using non-routine problems. The club members discuss various approaches in solving the problems. The highlights for students are the five monthly contests, given from November to March. |
